Knife Nerdery Review

We went a step further by machining what we call blade rails, two in the front and two in the back, which the blade slides on. These rails suspend the blade, allowing it to collect residue or debris without affecting its gravity-assisted drop.

This is ideal for most tasks where you'd use a utility knife, it cuts through boxes, zip ties, rubber hoses, leather, and cord. While it's not meant for a full day of cutting drywall (though I did manage to install an outlet with mine), it's perfect for 99% of everyday tasks.

The blade is intentionally supported by two small surfaces along its edge. When you slide the blade out, you're also pushing it upward, lifting it off those support points so it glides along the top of the frame instead. You can actually see the blade lift off the lower surfaces as it extends.

No tools are needed to swap the blade.

The blade rails ensure that the blade moves smoothly even if there is a bit of tape residue or build up on the blade.

We designed GhostTi with two locks to ensure it is safe. The mechanical lock captures the front of the blade and even with the mechanical lock released, the magnet holds the blade in place.

With the blade removed GhostTi is TSA safe. No tools are required to remove the blade and you can pick up a replacement blade from any hardware store after you return.

No GhostTi was designed to work with all standard replacement utility blades from your local hardware store.

I never used a lanyard on any tool before, but it’s a game changer for quick access. I keep mine like in the product image, with just the bead sticking out — makes it super easy to grab.

To some extent yes, having the cord with the bead in your hand gives you a better grip on the tool, not from a leverage standpoint but it supports the tool from shifting around. I thought it was strange as well but I personally am sold on a lanyard and would never take mine off my personal GhostTi.

Yes, the lanyard will fit through a hang hole larger than 0.20" (0.5 cm) without needing to force it. For smaller holes, you may need to thread it through using a thinner string.

We suggest feeding the lanyard loop in through the front face of the tool, then looping the bead through.

When installed, the cord measures approximately 3.5" (8.9 cm) from the tool to the end of the lanyard. Unknotted, the cord is 13" (33 cm) long.

The average bead takes about 5 minutes to laser, with the longest, Fractal, taking 9.5 minutes. Continuous patterns that wrap around the entire bead take longer than designs with separate images on each half.
