A One-Man Shop, 30 Years Strong: James’ Story

A Machinist’s Note on Hard Work, Good Tools, and Paying It Forward

Running a business on your own for 30 years is no small thing.
But that’s exactly what James has done—quietly and consistently, out of a one-man CNC shop he’s operated for decades.

At 65, James is still at it. And lately? Busier than ever.

To keep parts moving and projects on track, James recently turned to some friends who’ve retired—fellow tradesmen who know their way around a machine and are happy to jump back in. With their help, he’s been able to keep orders flowing.

This morning, James saw an ad for one of our tools on Facebook. What stood out wasn’t just the design—but the opportunity it gave him to say thanks.

“I thought your product would be a nice way to show my appreciation.”

We were honored to hear that.

James wrote in to let us know he appreciated the design, the build—and the entrepreneurial spirit behind it all. Coming from someone who’s spent decades on the shop floor, building his business with his own hands, that means a lot.

“Your products look amazing. Keep up the dream. I wish you both great success.”

Back at you, James. Thanks for doing what you do—and for thinking of us as part of your way of paying it forward.
